Know which kind of image you are viewing.

An illustrative render helps you choose a look. Supplier photography can show a configuration in more detail. Neither, by itself, proves that the piece currently being offered is available or has been inspected. Ask which images show the actual piece and when those images were taken.

Match the whole configuration.

Two watches with the same model name can differ in several visible details. Compare your saved choice against each photograph, including the side and clasp. A beautiful close-up is less useful if it shows a different dial or bracelet from the one you intend to order.

  • Dial: colour, markers, hand style and the presence or absence of a date window.
  • Case and bezel: listed size, finish, bezel style and colour.
  • Bracelet or strap: link pattern, finish, clasp and the length available for your wrist.

Use more than one angle for colour and fit.

Lighting, reflections and your screen can change how a dial looks. A straight-on image helps compare the layout; a side view helps show the case profile; a wrist photo adds context. Ask for case diameter and thickness in millimetres when fit matters. A photograph alone is not a measurement.

How to choose your watch size

Separate what you can see from what needs checking.

A photo can show the arrangement of a dial. It cannot establish a movement’s accuracy, power reserve, material composition or water resistance. Ask what supports each specification. A video can demonstrate a particular function working at that moment, but it does not establish long-term reliability or every other specification.

Keep a clear record of your choice.

Save the exact listing or configuration link and note any detail you will not compromise on. Ask which specifications are confirmed and which are still awaiting confirmation. Include your delivery country when discussing the total, and read the shipping and returns terms before ordering. If the photos and written description disagree, resolve that difference first.
